Born and raised in Honolulu, Pua’ala attended Maryknoll School and graduated from Kamehameha Schools. She worked for Matson Lines as a passenger representative for 13 years, but when the cruise ships were sold and the bad economy hit it put her out of a job. Pua’ala stayed home to raise her two children, daughter Kaluna and their son, Kia’aina, and to volunteer with community youth programs.
In 1985 Pua’ala received her real estate associates license and has since earned the designation of Realtor. Having been a resident of Lanikai for over 45 years and in the real estate industry for 30 of those years, Pua’ala has an intimate knowledge of the Windward side of the island and its real estate market that few can match.
When she isn’t working, Pua’ala enjoys spending her time with her family, and is an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Kailua.
